Income Tax Returns 2016 – Pay and File Deadline

The due date for filing income tax returns for 2016 tax year is 31 October 2017 which can be extended to Tuesday 14th November 2017 where taxpayers both pay and file online through ROS.

For Self-Assessment taxpayers, the extension is only available where the Form 11 return is filed and the appropriate payment is made through ROS for:

-        Income tax balance due for 2016, and

-        Preliminary Tax for 2017

The extension also applies for beneficiaries who received gifts or inheritances with valuation dates in the year ended 31 August 2017 who make the CAT return and the appropriate payment through ROS.

Additionally, for PAYE customers who file the Form 12 electronically the due date is also extended to Tuesday 14th November 2017.
